The Willamette Valley of Oregon (Portland south to Eugene) is the part of the state that is socialistic. The rest of the state is rural and conservative.
In Washington, it's the part west of the Cascades that is socialistic. East of the mountains, it's rural and conservative.
Washington is actually two states unhappily married at the Cascades, and the same is mostly true for Oregon.
If the US is divisible, then California is divisible. If Washington and Oregon wish to leave, then both states are divisible. Western Washington would probably be happier annexed into the Canadian province of British Columbia.
Pacific County is actually pretty conservative too.
Interesting. I agree. And we wouldn’t want to abandon the conservatives in those regions.
With that said, I am guessing this will never happen.
I woulda never figured grants pass to cave junction and Bryan etc going 2-1 Donald
Huge pot growing areas
So much for conventional free Republic wisdom on that
Pot is probably the biggest industry in cave junction
Very twin peaksish
Beautiful country
Now eastern Oregon is about like Texas culturally
NorCal is similar demographics wise
Western Washington would probably be happier annexed into the Canadian province of British Columbia Bring Cash.
Bring Cash, is what the locals call it. And now that Bring Cash, has decided to TAX homeowners, who don't live in their home year around, and if you own a LARGE HOME, say a 4 (four) bedroom, and their is only say you & your wife, and you don't rent rooms, congratulations Bring Cash is going to tax you for that. This is not a Bernie Sanders story, this is real news.

Story high lights
Vancouver city council has voted to approve a tax on empty homes, the first of its kind in Canada.
Self-reporting owners will be assessed a one per cent tax on homes that are not principal residences or aren't rented out for at least six months of the year.
That means a $1-million home left vacant would be taxed $10,000.
The motion passed 8-3, with Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson and all Vision Vancouver councillors voting in favour.
You just can't make this stuff up!!!!!
