It’s clearly a warning sign

My family leaves churches that act up

Why stay at one?

No way

Course Denver is hardly church land

Boy you leave the south you learn quick that church rate drops precipitously

New York City

Beautiful churches but not enough congregants to expand

I go to traverse city mitch a lot

I did a comparison

Rate of churches in grand traverse county compared to suburban Nashville

15% of what we have here proportionally

New York City. Beautiful churches but not enough congregants to expand

I had a reason to be at Columbia University a few months ago, so stopped by the Church of St. John the Divine a few blocks away. Never had been there, but I knew it was an old, blue-blood, long-standing head of NY City Espiscopal congregation.

A beautiful building. What I saw inside shocked me. They had removed most of the pews to hang a giant dragon from the ceiling - a work of art from China, apparently. Where did they even hold mass? A look at their activities was all about LGBT workshops, etc, etc..

I imagine what's left of the Episcopal Church is just a few insiders sitting on a bunch of empty buildings on extremely high-priced parcels of land. All that's left for them will be to fight about the money.
