The French presidencys Defense Councils next meeting will deal with the threat of Russian hacking in Frances upcoming presidential elections this Spring, Politico quoted the French weekly Le Canard Enchainé as reporting Wednesday.
The meeting, which will include French President Francois Hollande and Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, as well as the ministers for defense, interior, foreign affairs, finance and the budget, will focus on Russian attempts to sway the election using disinformation campaigns and trolling on social media, as well as hacking attacks.
French intelligence officials believe that Russia is working behind the scenes to support presidential candidate Marine Le Pen of the far-right National Front party, according to the Le Canard Enchainé report cited by Politico.
Le Pen is currently leading in polls for the first round of voting in April, but is expected to lose in Mays runoff between the first rounds two leading vote-getters.

Sounds like they are setting up the narrative to attack LePen the same way their globalist progressive cadre attacked Trump
If she wins, the Russians did it
LOL What a joke. The Canard Enchaine is a paper specializing in satire!!!!! Often read it for amusement when I’m in France. The idiot acts as if he’s quoting Le Monde or Le Figaro which are serious papers.
Fillon has been hurt by scandal so Marine LePen could very well win the election.
Don’t them there Russskis ALWAYS fight against the Socialists?
Lookit how they fought against Hillary..................
This would be comical if it involved some trivial matter,
LOL!! French! You got more to worry about than imaginary Russian hacking—like your own government intentionally allowing the invasion of murdering Muslims with the sole purpose of destroying you.
But have a baguette and a nice day anyway.
