People prefer the lies they tell themselves to the truth. Their lies are a warm blanket and the truth is a cold winter evening with the full moon shining through the trees shedding a stark white light on their lies.
This is why the Democrats are such angry and violent people.
They have not much truth amongst their lies. They spend so much effort defending their lies that anger is inevitable in any encounter with a conservative.
Being a Democrat must be exhausting.
