More than 25,000 officers have been “war placed” as the Scandinavian nation bolsters its national defences against potential threats.
The order was given by the police chief at the end of January as every police officer is expected to know their role if a war or crisis should erupt.
The decision to implement the Government order, which was taken in 2015 after Russia invaded Ukraine and illegally annexed Crimea, affects 28,500 police officers.
Most of the officers will remain in their current roles and counties, even if an emergency situation should occur, however, some might be ordered to serve in the armed forces.

Good luck Sweden. Trump will be sure to keep the US neutral. People remember that you stayed “neutral” during WW II and traded with the Nazis until their gold ran out.
Then they deserve to be threatened by Putin. He has every right to decide Sweden’s business for them.

Now, I'll be the first to admit that I don't keep up with the news programs. My attitude is that, if I can't find it here on FreeRepublic, it's not something that I need to be concerned about.
But I haven't heard anything about Russia (or Putin, specifically) threatening Sweden with invasion or worse ...

Just one question, since Bernie Sanders always touts countries like yourself as having wonderful socialistic healthcare, how’s that working out with no money spent on self defense? You’ll have free healthcare while you are learning Russian...
