Has there ever been an analysis done (even at the state level) on how much it costs to have things like waiting periods for firearms acquisitions in states like California, Hawaii, and others and their impacts on the criminal and tragic misuse of firearms? The same could be could be asked of Illinois and it’s Firearm Owners Identification certificates or licencing in Massachusetts.
I believe John Lott did a study on waiting periods, and found that they had little impact except a slight increase in crime.
