My first serious girlfriend of over half a century ago is now a retired curator of an art museum in a smaller town in Nederland. We began to correspond a while back after almost 50 years and with the Internet making such things too easy. In half a dozen years she has morphed from proper politically correct attitudes about everything, attitudes such one would expect the curator of an art museum to have, to cautious approval of Heer Wilders. She has started to worry about what is to become of Hollands kultur.

Europeans are 10X more “politically correct” than Americans. Like the Germans, they do not want to stick out for their political views, especially when their society’s dominant view is leftist.

Many people there are not telling pollsters their real intentions. I bet the victory will be much larger than anticipated.
