I bet there are already 19 GOP Senators willing to convict Trump on a Bill of Impeachment.
I do not believe there are 218 House members willing to bring charges - not yet, anyway.
I don’t know why he can’t issue a new order that requires countries to have a minimum of ID requirements for their citizens and an independent means for US customs to verify and investigate subjects if necessary. Somalia and South Sudan (I know, S. Sudan not in the ban), are basically ruled by warlords and most certainly have compromised or non functional ID systems.
It’s difficult to verify Syrians and Iranians independently because we don’t have normal diplomatic relations with those countries. It would be reasonable to argue that some of these countries are openly hostile to the US and refugees from these countries should be consider as terrorist operatives until proven otherwise.
McConnell and Ryan seem to be teeming up because they want to maintain their ego-power positions.

McConnell will not act legislatively to support the travel ban. He will not allow investigation of vote fraud. He has slow walked hearings.

Congress already passed a law authorizing this back in the 1950s. Passing another law the courts may just ignore wouldn’t do any good.

Congress doesn’t NEED to step in. The LAW is clear, it’s just the judge in WA doesn’t seem to be able to READ it. He’s saying the decision will cause his state irreparable harm, and that justifies the stay, but I don’t see how allowing more refugees is gonna cause harm. Now the delays caused by having to spend more time looking at someone’s visa might be an inconvenience to some employers in WA, but that won’t affect THAT many people, anyway, so it won’t cause irreparable harm.
If the Ninth Circus decides to uphold the WA judge’s decision, I hope the DOJ takes it to the Supremes, which has already upheld the existing law, when Obama was President.
McConnell sounds like the “Trump is not my president” crowd, Trump is part of the “other”, to quote a favorite Leftist line.
In other words, according to Turkey-Neck, the Courts run the country as they wish. They are our bosses. The other two branches are just for show and patronage jobs.

Trump should have KEPT BLOCKING PEOPLE while appealing this ridiculous traffic court liberal's unlawful op-ed piece posing as a "ruling," simply citing the 1952 law as "settled" precedent and his authority as "clear cut and long established."
Guess the President will have to ban ALL immigration in order to avoid discriminating against anyone.
