Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) on Monday compared congressional Republicans' acceptance of President Trump's executive order restricting immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries to lawmakers who didn't fight against the Japanese internment camps during World War II.
The history of the U.S. government forcing Japanese Americans to live in camps after the attack on Pearl Harbor is personal for Takano: His parents and grandparents were among the people in those camps.
"History often forces us to ask ourselves: How would we have acted if we lived in that moment?" Takano mused in a fiery House floor speech. "Through the president's recent executive order, we no longer have to wonder."

Stupid should be painful.
I agree with you that some people on here are posers, virtue signallers as you say, snowflakes in mommas basement.... Etc. I presume that you are former military like me and served your country. But some people and their families on here have experienced things that aren’t typable.
But yes, I agree, some people have never had anything taken from them and are *virtue signallers.” Some have had things taken away, though.
Damn, I believe we may be onto something. Thanks for the suggestion, Dems!
No, you Silly Billy. I’m calling *you* a virtue signaller.
By your lights I suppose we should have allowed Japanese spies to continue to report back to Tokyo on US Navy fleet movements, after measuring the depth of Pearl Harbor bay a few weeks earlier.
You propose no solutions, just wag your finger at others in these hallowed halls who actually ...

Now, go back to Reddit.
And Obama’s ban on Cuban refugees 3 weeks ago??
They got it wrong—The camps are not for Muslims—they are being built for Liberals!
What is approved when done by Democrats becomes what is condemned by Democrats as time goes by.
Besides many of the imprisoned being American citizens of Japanese descent, a lot of white spouses were interned with their Japanese-American husbands. As little as one-sixth Japanese blood in an American was enough to intern them. But there were white women with no Japanese blood interned in the camps, along with mixed white/Japanese children. They were forced to give up all possessions other than a suitcase, and many lost property they left behind.
What is happening now, is not happening to American citizens.
It’s still a threat they take seriously. Here’s one same dam. The NCIC Files cops use to check for wanted and possible terrorist were down so the officer could not make a determination until later that morning. I know this area well. No one goes up there at 5:00am to take pictures. They cross it that time of morning because US 441 crosses on the top of the dam. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/856962/posts
I remember that. Yes it is still a threat.
People willing to imprison other family’s women and children for THEIR family’s freedom should not be defended.
German Americans? No, they would make horrible spies. Japanese Americans could blend in much better. /s
Navy? I’ve trapped on more carriers than you can name from countries on most continents. In a storm. I have risked and would risk my life for the freedom of ALL American women and children. Yours. Mine. Everyone reading this.
Freedom is worth fighting for. FDR crossed a line we shouldn’t have crossed in the 20th century.
It’s just my opinion. I am very passionate about the freedom of Americans, your kids included. There are many who are hard-wired like me. It’s what makes many join the military.
You don’t need to be so insulting.
My father was not allowed to visit his aunt in Italy during WW2 because he was a soldier with an ITalian name. This was after the Italian surrender. He was with Patton’s army in Germ any.
Possibly a wise move by the military commander or intel officer in war time for his safety and for the war effort. He retained his freedom, your family retained your freedom, but precautions were taken.
And we won the war, thanks to patriots like your dad.
Japanese attacked America, Muslims attacked America, we BOMBED Japan, WE.. WELL you know NUKE MECCA..
