Some Starbucks customers are threatening to boycott the coffee giant after its CEO took a stand against President Donald Trump's executive order barring immigrants from seven majority-Muslim countries from entering the US.
On Sunday, Starbucks announced it planned to hire 10,000 refugees worldwide in the next five years.
"We are living in an unprecedented time, one in which we are witness to the conscience of our country, and the promise of the American Dream, being called into question," CEO Howard Schultz wrote in a letter to Starbucks employees about the plan.
While many customers were immediately supportive of Starbucks' actions on social media, others threatened to boycott after the letter's release.
"Upon hearing about your decision to hire 10000 refugees instead of Americans I will no longer spend any money at Starbucks," one such Facebook user wrote on Starbucks' page.

I never liked Starbuck's coffee, which I find too bitter or burnt.
Just saw that drought in Brazil has impacted the Robusta crop, and that's the bean used for instant coffee. On the other side of the globe, both Vietnam's and Indonesia's Robusta crops aren't faring much, if any, better.
For me, it’s not so much a BOYCOTT, it’s more that I do not wish to fund my enemy.
Another example: I *LOVE* Amazon. Hyperconvenient, quick, and I’ve been very satisifed with their customer service.
However, Jeff Bezos first took over the WashingFake Post, and made it into a #NeverTrump liberal hatchetjob rag.
I handled that.
But now he intends to personally fund lawsuits against Trump. The first one is to overturn Obama’s Immigration Order, now enforced by President Trump.
That is a mile too far.
I cannot fund my enemy. Starcucks and Amazon are dead to me.
Thanks.
I've boycotted some people so long now that I forgot why.
