The trouble with ad-hoc agencies like the EPA is that they never actually solve the problem that they were created to deal with. Instead, they constantly move the goalposts further and further away, so they can never agree to drop back into a maintenance mode. There is always “more progress” to be made.

The trouble is that the costs, direct and indirect, grow exponentially larger the closer they get to the perfect environmental utopia that they claim to seek.

They will claim to need ever increasing funding and personnel levels, and to justify those levels, they have to create a panic atmosphere by trotting out dire predictions of doom and mass deaths if the last fraction of a percent of any given pollutant isn’t purged from the air or water. For the EPA, the “climate change” nonsense is nothing short of a bonanza.

You will never hear these people admit that the job they have done is good enough, that any given problem is solved, and that the bureaucratic empires that they have created can be scaled back, not even just a tiny bit.

No, government agencies always want more, and every year they go trotting off to Congress to beg for their next years budget. And they always inflate their requests to compensate for the inevitable trimming, and they also know that it is never acceptable to spend less than what they are allocated because that will make it harder to justify future increases.

The drones at the EPA hive will be busy in coming days preparing their latest round of death predictions, the deaths they will blame directly on President Trump.

The EPA was actually instituted to solve problems versus perpetuate its own existence by creating them?
