“I would prefer a tax on remittances to mexico sent back by the mexicans here.”

That IS the place to hit them but it’s impossible to do it. Even if we pass the necessary banking regs, what do you do about PayPal, bitcoin, money orders or mailing plain old cash. Plus keep in mind those remittances will be reduced accordingly with deportations.

Processed like checks on redemption. Extract the Wall fee on the electronic backend when they cash it. The institutions cashing down South will either learn to tack on the fee or eat it.
