Trump stirs fear with voter fraud probe.

President Trump stirred bipartisan controversy on Wednesday by pledging to launch a “major investigation” into his baseless claim that widespread voter fraud cost him the popular vote in the 2016 presidential election.

Trump’s assertion that as many as 3 million illegal ballots were cast has been disputed by news organizations, state attorneys general and academics who study voter fraud claims. Even Trump’s own legal team conceded last year that there was no evidence of widespread fraud in the election, as part of a court challenge against a recount effort in three Midwestern states.

Trump reiterated the charge in a Monday meeting with congressional leaders. After a reporter asked White House press secretary Sean Spicer Tuesday why Trump wouldn’t investigate whether such widespread voter fraud had occurred, Trump called for a “major investigation” in a Wednesday tweet.

This country cannot afford to lose faith in the electoral process. It is the foundation of our republic. One would think that anyone supporting the democratic ideal would jump at the chance to address any shortcomings in that process.

But I guess that assumes liberals truly support democracy and don’t just pay it lip service.

Why would an illegal register to vote, unless they actually planned to vote?

In some cases like California they have no choice when you get a drivers license you are automatically registered. Motor Voter.

May they never figure out that the appearance of being a mere blowhard is backed up by facts whenever he provokes them into reacting, I suspect in the exact manner that he wants. He’s played them like a fiddle so many times that it’s not luck or accident.

"Baseless claim".

"Demonstrably false".

Big Government Media loves to say that this claim is false, but how would they know, since voter ID isn't required in numerous states??

The thing they have to fear is getting caught red handed allowing fraud. And they will be. They know the gig is up.

"In some cases like California they have no choice when you get a drivers license you are automatically registered. Motor Voter."

And in the last three years, California has issued 800,000 driver's licenses to illegals.

By describing President Trump’s assertion of voter fraud as “baseless” The Hill reveals that it is just another partisan rag shilling for the Marxist, anti-American Democrat Party.

I don’t think he would tee this up if he didn’t have a pretty darn good idea that his claims are valid. Trump isn’t stupid.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Trump and fellow Republicans need to push for a Constitutional Amendment that would make it a felony to attempt to register or vote without a valid photo ID.
