“Saddens me that they exploit children to make political points. And, that the kids needed to be exposed to all of that hatred and lunacy.”

I feel the same as you do. However, I’ve noted that all leftists not only involve their children in their lunacy, but actually proudly and explicitly wear such an approach to parenting as a badge of honor. Without exception, leftists post photos of their entire family at activist events. It’s a rule of membership.

When WBill Jr. was born, a couple of inlaws purchased him a "Future Democrat" shirt. They thought it would be funny to twist my tail, you see.

Sadly, I took the bait. Threw the shirt away and told them not to waste anymore of their money.

They were a bit miffed. They huffed and puffed, some, and said, "I BET that if it said FUTURE REPUBLICAN, you wouldn't have a problem with it!!!!"

When I told them (honestly), no, my reaction would have been exactly the same .... the look they gave me was frightening. They couldn't comprehend that I had principles, and that I'd stick to them. A brief interaction, to be sure, but it told me far more about them, and democrats in general, than I ever wanted to know.

Needless to say, I've kept them at arms length as much as possible. WBill Jr gets a few visits - I'll not deny access to close family just because I don't particularly care for them - but the time spent is well-supervised and on a short leash. When WBill Jr is old enough - and he's getting to that point - he can make his own decisions.

My young children are getting from me a fairly biased upbringing. They know that their mother and father voted for Trump (and Romney), and they learn why. We have FoxNews on in front of them very regularly (no matter what people at FR state, Fox is a good platform for teaching your kids a lot about the world). We try to keep the political discussions unemotional and based on truth — which is what conservatism is all about. Ultimately our children will be force-indoctrinated at every level by the leftist educational system. We tell them regularly that teachers are there to instruct them HOW to think, not WHAT to think. We just feel they need the tools to think independently and fight back. If they ultimately become good little Democrats we cannot fault ourselves for not trying.

This looks like multi-generational stupidity to me.

Actually this has alot to do with abortion rights. To me my attitude towards abortion is what I said to a radical abortion supporter years ago and is still my attitude: “I’ll never stand in the way of your right to abort an unwanted baby - Just don’t expect me to pay for it...”.

Link to the video — Leftist woman punches big guy supporting Trump

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eK76SIygVBo

The fun stuff happens in the beginning. Not much point in watching all 6 minutes. The Leftists are irrational and out of control. Depressing that the media thinks “they have a point”.

I've kept it a little less biased. Figure that WBill Jr has the rest of his life to get into politics, he should focus on being a kid.

What I *have* done, though, is force him to support any opinions. For instance, for awhile, he would come up to me and say "Donald Trump Stinks".

"OK", I'd reply, "Why?". Turned out that he was just repeating what he heard from friends, or on TV (he watches a lot of FoxNews too, FYI....). Told him that it was OK not to like Trump, but he needed to be able to defend his opinion. It was a good teaching moment, and he took it to heart. He came to me a few weeks before the election and said, "I'm still not sure about Donald Trump, but Hillary Clinton is a criminal!! Did you know that she.....", and it was off to the races.

I'm not worried. Kid is more conservative than I am (he just doesn't know it yet) and most people wish they have 1/2 the integrity that he does.

Wow. I had to slow motion the video but she did strike the guy first. Then the protesters claim "he hit a woman". These "liberals" rely on societal norms and niceties to protect them while they violate the same.

I have long been convinced that at some point, if this continues, those societal niceties are going to go away, and the "liberals" that have any sense will regret it.
