She was such a beautiful young woman - Laura Petrie!

Such a beautiful icon of pre-feminism western culture.

I think her hair style at that time was influenced by Jackie Kennedy.

As a child, I watched that program with my mother, who was about same age as MTM.

Joe Kennedy had a lot of influence in the media, and John Kennedy was popular with the Hollywood crowd. One of the reasons, although obviously not the only one that MTM and Dick Van Dyke were chosen for their roles was their resemblance to the Kennedys.
