I think many prominent Christians (e.g., Dr. Robert Jeffress) who have been close to the Trump campaign believe that he has changed during the campaign — become a true Christian . . . if in fact he was not before.
It happens.
Mat 12:43 "When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.
Mat 12:44 Then he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
Mat 12:45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation."
If his house is empty, he won't have the bread of life to fight off the spirits. Bible study and meditating on the Word day and night keeps you from falling back. Taking bad things out and deliverance from evil things can change back overnight without discipleship. He was a Democrat till just a couple of years ago. Just living in NYC and Washington DC is like Lot living in Sodom.
