It will be a strong Nor’easter later today and tomorrow, stay safe! It’s almost 60 up here in the Twilight Zone today with bright sunshine!
Really HEAVY rain right now—about 2 inches in the past 10 minutes. Almost like waves! Wind speeds up to 43 miles per hour.
Macon seems to be pretty well centered for it.

Phone was ringing off the hook about 2 hours ago and the message was “Seek shelter now ! “. Not bad where we live because of the marsh but not so good inland. Prayers for those folks..
Here in N central FL, the wind has been howling with scary gusts. Intermittent sideways rain. I know we are waiting for the gulf storms to get here, they look ominous. Prayers for all caught up in this awful weather!
All southern SC counties are under tornado watch until 10 PM. Charleston, Berkeley, Dorchester and all counties south of here.
I passed through Albany last week and saw sign of tornado damage. It looked fresh so they have really been hit hard.
We’re in Hernando Cty FL. Under a tornado warning now. Anyone in west central FL especially around Ocala, Leesburg or The Villages BE CAREFUL! !
We just had one line of storms go through Central Florida. Rained pretty hard. Next line expected in about an hour or so.
My adult daughter has been in Huston, TX on her job...
She is still stuck at the Huston airport waiting for her delayed flight to go to Atlanta GA...
She just called, said they are waiting patiently..
Prayers for all who have to travel in this...
I’m sitting her in the Mountains of SW Pennsylvania and like a MOM, always worrying about our kids, no matter how old they get...
Well, this is winter and it is a nor’ easter, so it would certainly qualify as a winter storm.
I have friends vacationing in FL this week. I was checking the radar for the fun of it and noticed a line of severe thunderstorms passing right over where they were staying.
They were also there last year but closer to Tampa, when those tornadoes hit Siesta Key.
This storm is heading up the coast in typical nor’ easter fashion.
The forecast for NY at the moment is for 1-3 inches of snow on Tues after rain all day Monday.
Time will tell what we’ll get when this is all said and done.
FWIW, any storm that forms over the Gulf invariably becomes a strong nor’easter. I always watch the Gulf for a system of thunderstorms for next weeks weather here in NY.
We had 55 and sunny here in CNY.
And yesterday was just about as nice.
Typical January thaw but back to reality Monday.
Yup, those were some nasty buggers. I’m in Casselberry and heard a tornado go by, but no damage. Been awhile since I’ve heard that sound. Hope you’re safe too.
Big noting-burger in Atlanta GA but prayers to the areas that were hit.
It rained hard, off and on. It was a a good day to stay in. Useful rain for recharging reservoir lakes like Alatoona, Lanier, etc.
Just below you in the So Tier...calling for extended periods of snot today/tonight and tomorrow....
Winter storm warning in effect from 1 PM today until 1 PM tomorrow.
Starting as rain then changing to sleet and heavy wet snow late this afternoon. And I know that lake effect is on tap for the day after. ALWAYS happens.
I’m guessing there’s going to be no school tomorrow.
Anyone with a NY ping list could ping that out.
