Profanity interrupts and short circuits the flow of ideas—it's like putting in a big, loud, ugly exclamation point in your dialogue.

And sometimes those big, loud, ugly exclamation points are perfectly warranted.

I can't tell if that was the case here or not because a special snowflake went crying to the mods and got the post removed.

And, for what it's worth, there's a difference between shouting profanities within the earshot of children and silently reading them. If someone can't handle reading a bad word, they've got serious issues that need to be addressed. That's their problem, not mine

Special snowflakes don’t impress the mods at FR. Mods found that the language was not wanted on FR. Perhaps they were trying to preserve a minimal standard of civility?

HERE HERE! Exactly my thoughts. I can’t decide because the so-called “offensive” word was removed.

Would it have offended me? I doubt it. I believe in FREE SPEECH. That includes offensive words. I know one such word that is almost never said in TV shows because it might offend people.

That word is JESUS.

Was that the offensive word that was removed? How can I know?
