“But most, if not all, of them will get a slap on the wrist and get sent home. That’s why we continue to see left-wing riots.”
Since they are FEDERAL CHARGES, that’s now up to the US JUSTICE DEPARTMENT, soon to be run by Bill Sessions. Don’t bet on them being as wimpy as the Albuquerque Police...not by a long shot.
Time will tell...some likely will not get the ‘full treatment’, but others - may very well get it!
Felony conviction means they lose voting rights in most states. SWEET justice
I’ve read that there are attys waiting to “take care” of any charges filed. Those attys should be looked at too if they represent more than 2 rioters - that part was organized as well. Disbar a few attys and see what happens.
I’ll put $ on it that they all get a slight slap in the wrist and that’s it. This is the way our judiciary works in today’s world
This is good news. Apply the full weight of the law. Some of them will squeal about who hired them. Go up the RICO chain of command and if it ensnares Soros, charge him with terrorism and throw his old arse into Gitmo.
I heard on the radio this morning (WTOP) that most of them were released without bail.
Soros spends $25k on morning coffee.. They’ll be out before the judges gavel hits the desk.
“We need PROOF from an irrefutable source. I’d hope that with over 200 in custody, and the seriousness of attempting to thwart the peaceful transfer of power, some proof that these are paid Anarchists will be forthcoming.”
There are severe problems with locking people up. It doesn’t deter crime, it is finishing school for criminals. (There is a special facility near me that prisoners get transferred to so they can get training and education to transition back into society. A guard there told me three of them in the last year have committed murder within 24 hours of release.) It is expensive, costing more per year per prisoner to than a year at Harvard. There simply isn’t enough room, which is one reason the courts are anxious to plea-bargain to lower charges.
The way I see it, the paid soldiers on the ground should be encouraged to give up the payer. We are going to find that those paying are the SEIU, other unions and ultimately Democratic party connected machinery. This should be a RICO case. Those people at the top, Nancy Pelosi, George Soros, should be the ones we spend money on in prison.
Up to this point the payers have had political cover. That may have gone away on January 20. We shall have to wait and see. Our justice system tends to look at, for example. the drug user on the street and ignore the people supplying at the top. The people at the top are really tough targets and most of the mechanisms for dealing with, in this example, drugs, are tailored for small, easy targets. The situation is similar when you have huge liberal organizations who are, essentially, a reprise of the Brown Shirts but in purple or even long sleeves and ties.
Who were the hoodlums that smashed the B of A bank windows; there oughta be security or other camera footage...
fines are irrelevant
the criminals have no assets so can’t pay the fine
YES! Any future anarchists will be facing a long time before they can collect another paycheck for such antics. IMO, those idiots need to pay the price both in time and money. All their paid protesting days will be over.
“....rather than lazing around in prison on the publics dime.”.........
Ever heard of “Chain gangs”? I would not be surprised to see Trump establishing something similar to those again. You want to eat, you work for your meals.
When they bust out store windows, they're NOT protesters, they're criminals.
The rioters should pay for ALL the damage...
Great idea!
And Gitmo is a country club with half a dozen jailers for every inmate.
In true Bush-style love your enemy fashion the US bends over backwards to coddle the Gitmo scum with Halal meals, books, prayer accoutrements (eg the infamous yellow arrows pointing to Mecca), etc.
Most of them are in solitary anyway so mixing with other prisoners is rare.
No, the city or county lockup would be closer and better for these Internet tough guys where the local gang members and drug dealers serving time or awaiting sentencing or trial will be glad to show the political idealist white boys what life behind bars is really all about.
Demand felony convictions for all ,even if no other punishment,so they lose eligibility for many things.
I hope they beat the crap out of them with the book, then throw it at them.
If Sessions is confirmed, it would be a great opportunity to build a RICO case against Soros, revoke his naturalization and deport him back to Hungary where I understand the government is taking a serious look at him.
If Justice can prove he (or his organizations) are paying these rioters, it could prove to be very interesting.
