The normally sedate Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions became the scene of a Fourth of July display when Sen. Elizabeth Warren led her fellow party members in demanding a second round of questioning of Betsy DeVos, President-elect Donald Trumps choice as secretary of education.

The Massachusetts Democrat asked committee Chairman Sen. Lamar Alexander for a second day of hearings, and told him that if hearings were to be extended for an additional day, she would have many, many more questions to ask of DeVos.
The Tennessee Republican observed that precedent didnt call for a second round of questioning. When President Obamas two nominees for education secretary were being considered by the committee, there was only one round of questioning by committee members.
He added that although many Republican committee members werent happy with the single round of questioning, out of deference to the president and the institution, we thought that it would be appropriate for us to defer to the president.
He added that DeVos had already spent 50 percent more time under committee questioning than either of Obamas picks.
Alexanders answer clearly stuck in Warrens craw.
Throughout Alexanders patient explanation Warrens posturing and fidgeting displayed discontent. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee loved the turnabout, as did his followers.

DeVos has indicated throughout her life that she placed students above teacher unions when it comes to education. She is pro-school choice, anti-Common Core and anti-union, and thats what really sticks in the craw of the Democrats
I live in Malden, MA. You should have seen all the New York license plates on cars with Granny Warren stickers on them. Because of Hurricane Sandy they came up to rabble rouse. They were all teachers.
I wouldn’t have any “reservations” over doing that either
Not to slam the good people of Mass., but so many f their politicians are just so trashy. No doubt good people there too.
If they had IMPORTANT QUESTIONS to ask they should have got to them first instead of beating around the bush to delay, delay, delay.
Warren is not only nasty and arrogantly rude, she’s a complete scatterbrained nincompoopish twit. Typical of all Democrat women.
The prize of the week, however, should go to Minnesota’s esteemed Senator Franken. His questioning was the most garbled, unintelligible of all.
How ignorant Minnesota voters appear to those who pay attention.
...and intellectually grotesque.
Maybe not...
Physically, emotionally, spiritually and intellectually grotesque.
She reeks of grotesque, from the tip of her soul, to the murky smudge in her lying eyes.
Warren displays all the symptoms of a mentally unstable female. Watch her face and hands during exchanges between her and the appointee.
She’s as nutty as a fruitcake and is in the same class as the offensive Patty Murray and the criminal Hillary Clinton.
You too?
