Republicans, both in the incoming Trump administration and on Capitol Hill, are growing increasingly angry with Senate Democrats' efforts to slow the confirmation of Trump nominees. GOP lawmakers and staff often point out that the Senate confirmed seven Obama nominees secretaries of agriculture, education, energy, homeland security, interior, veterans affairs and a budget director on Inauguration Day 2009. Now, Democrats are saying they might might allow the confirmation of two Trump nominees on Friday.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is accusing Republicans of trying "to jam through Cabinet nominees in a way that hides their views from the American people." Schumer wants more extensive read longer committee hearings for Trump nominees, and without them, he said, "then [Republicans] should be prepared for that debate on the floor extensive debate."
On Thursday, Schumer said Democrats might allow Inauguration Day votes on Secretary of Defense-designate James Mattis and Secretary of Homeland Security-designate John Kelly. So where Obama had seven, Trump will have two.

If they won’t confirm the candidate then put a bill in to abolish the entire department. It would be a good idea anyway. It becomes a win win for the Trumpster. Wanna see the heads explode if the Dums let an entire department full of loyal Dem voters get canned?
Who would replace Chuck Schumer if something happened to him? How many people down line would need to “disappear” before we got the person we want in his office? Just thinking out loud.
You tell these guys every day they hold up the nominees (if they have completed paperwork) their staff budget will be cut by 5%
Why not hold the votes tomorrow? Won’t many of the Dems be in hiding?
Send in the Czars....
I would prefer Senator McConnell ADJOURN the SENATE for 12 Hours and let President Trump make them All RECESS APPOINTMENTS, then Eliminate the Filibuster Entirely.
Prepare for things to get really nasty.
Any Department having a cabinet level post left unfilled for more than 2 weeks after a nominee is chosen by the president will be closed immediately.
Or all department employees are furloughed until such time as a depart head is confirmed.
Second that Hatch stuff from SW Utah country.
Donning my tinfoil hat here, but does the Democrat stalling have anything to do with CNN’s “reporting” on what would happen if Trump were assassinated before his cabinet is approved?
If the left wants war, that would do it.
Take the money out of government and the criminals will follow.
Cut taxes. Balance the budget. Pay off the debt.
Government should not be an attractant or haven for criminals.
I don’t know what the procedural holdup is, but there have been a number of articles about Trump nominees getting held up by all this wrangling in committees and then presumably on the floor. If the delay is a matter of weeks and not days, then I say recess appoint them and get the confirmation when the babies are done with their tantrum.
The dems have been playing hardball for many years. It is time republicans grew a set and stood up for
their principles.
Imagine if Chuck Shumer and a TV camera were between Moochelle Obama and a tamale?
Dems may not realize it but by doing this they are setting the standard for all new hearings.
Prepare for things to get really nasty.

The only way to benefit from ‘setting ‘new’ standards’ would require R’s with backbones. They let the D’s basically run everything even though in control of House & Senate.
Can’t really take ANY of these votes seriously as long as they all go 52-48 or whatever the ‘party line’ is.
They are supposed to represent US - not the party line
Ok. Then who?
I am more than happy to have Chaaaas Shooomah be the poster boy for the Democratic Party. Nothing better than that guy nasaling out how he represents the “maaaayn stream.”
That @ss hat gave us Ginsberg, he in fact recommended her to Bill Clinton as some one that would sail through the nomination process.
So where are the Republican leaders???
