Good morning, DollyCali!!!!!

It’s wonderful to be back online!

I can’t wait to read everybody’s memories of the inauguration!

I was in tears most of the day Friday.

All of it was so wonderful! I watched almost every second of the events.

If FR had been up, I would have been here some of the time but I don’t have a TV in my computer room so I would have had Cspan.org on while typing and reading this thread on FR.

With FR down, I just watched the inauguration - like I said, every second of it - on cspan with occasional channel changes over to Fox - but those talking heads there were beyond the pale bad.....so Cspan with no commentary was the best!

I now find that I want to see more, more, more of our First Family! So, I will come here to read from everybody’s thoughts and photos.

Thanks in advance, everybody!

I was able to watch the events til about 2 on Friday but then had to go to work at the grocery store for my wine sampling job so missed the parade. Went to bed pretty early Fri night with headache. Did not go to the Inaugural party I was intending to join. Watched Parade Sunday afternoon and also the procession to the WH viewing stands from the Capitol.

some of the highlights or things I noted of the past two days for me were:

-The appearance of the main players. (okay, Im shallow). The Pence and Trump family looked like royalty. They were poised, elegant, beautifully dressed and coifed. The carried themselves well, spoke well, and even the children were wonderfully behaved.

- The courtesy of all towards each other publicly

- The confusion on MOs part receiving the gift. She felt awkward and it seemed like she wanted to hide it to me. AND AM I THE ONLY ONE that shuddered when she went on screen. Everything I read said how great she looked. Not to me. Dress was matronly and made her look more large and awkward than she already was. Hair. Meh.. well POSSIBLY my not liking her is carrying over into my evaluation but I thought the contrast between the outgoing and incoming was Bottom of Barrel to CREAM ON THE TOP.

-Barron. What a handsome young guy. His confidence grew over the day of exposure. I especially got a kick our of when the family entered the presidential viewing box at Parade when outside you could hear chanting of BARRON! BARRON! BARRON!. He was cute the couple times the family walked when he shyly waved at first and then got more into it.

- At beginning of parade the military general, Trump and Pence all saluted flag and salutes. Short time later just military and Trump saluted and at same time Pence covered his heart as a form of salute. Wondering if someone told him to cease and desist that only the CIC is to return or originate these? Just a curiosity .

- The parade components .. what a great combo. Glad to have no floats as such. Honoring the military, schools,LEO, scouting/youth, bagpipes/horses, and Vets .. as well as segments of our country (like the Made in America farm tractors... ) I think that was Barron’s favorite part. Did you note his excitement during that part?

- during worship Saturday AM.. Melania was deeply moved by the female singing How Great thou Art. She was close to tears. She was the first one standing and clapping at the end of the song and others joined her.

- Saturday worship service.. interesting blend and I saw how they tried to incorporate the essence of variety of worship.. but it became tedious to me. I do NOT Like canned prayers and it seemed to a degree they was a prayer contest of sorts. A couple seemed soulful but most platitudish . After service nice to see DJT go to the participants and shake hands and thank them.

-The balls.. I just saw the one news cast broadcast covering them all.. but always the blocking when anything we really wanted to see/hear came on. The dancing was nice and esp touching the 2 military couples dancing with the Trumps and Pences. It was fun seeing the flair Melania’s gent exuded.

- the media continuing to try to downplay, discredit, distort all aspects. Size of crowd, content of his speech, the participants

-beginning of media understanding the consequences of their misdeeds and that even if they put on a hissy fit, too bad. Some getting better - a little!

- GREAT seeing Mad Dog come up with DJT AND MP during the parade and chatting. there were some serious times between DJT and him. Already working

-wondering if Melania and Barron will be permitted to use the TRUMP plane. OR if they must use AF2 for security reasons.

- people wondering about how DJT will live without company MONIES or income as president. come on now. He divested his company relationship. He did NOT give away his wealth/savings etc. They won’t be living on our nickel. we can be sure of that.

JUST A FEW OF MY TOP OF HEAD THOUGHTS...

Good Sunday Morning Dolly and ALL you WINNING adorable Deplorables!!

So very thankful to be able to turn on puter early this morning and be able to join the best darn thread and the bestest peeps in the whole wide world.

Still peeling myself down off the ceiling after the last two days of enjoyment, the early morning prayer service, the pomp and circumstance of the swearing in, Pres. Trumps speech directly to us, we the people, the luncheon where he was magnanimous to his foe, the parade, especially the military and law enforcement, the youth participating in a memory of a lifetime, the evening balls, POTUS singing along to “My Way”, and the gowns, stunning. Day 2, the multi-faith church service, learning that our President was at the WH working for us, his visiting the CIA and getting a rousing standing ovation, Sean Spicers calling out the lying media, I was applauding and laughing, the LSM is in full meltdown that he would do such a thing, message to lying fakes, GET USED TO IT!!.

This has been the most carefully followed and watched election and Inauguration of my lifetime for me.

Now the hard work begins and I KNOW he will do what he said he would do.
