When I lived in San Diego, pregnant women came across the border all day long to have babies born in the US. Then you hope you get one of the very small pool of immigration judges who agrees that separating a mama from baby would be ‘undue hardship’. Presto! You’re in.

In those days, it was pretty easy to just walk across the border at Tecate. Probably worse now.

They did and still do that in Texas, too.
