Well if you don’t count the millions of years in the past that were probably hotter. Or colder. Now for the really hard part for the warmunists. Answers please:

1. Define the “correct” temperature range for the planet.

2. Define the “correct” humidity range for the planet.

3. Define the “correct” mean sea level for the planet.

4. Define the “correct” amount of precipitation for the planet.

5. Define the “correct” makeup of the atmosphere.

6. Define the “correct” amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.

7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.

Call us when you can provide a “correct” answer.

Hotter than 1933? 1998?

Have they further lowered historical temperatures to make it appear warmer?

Or is this more of the so-called climate change hoax?

Rhetorical questions, all.

I don’t buy it for second, but even if true, so what?

Warmer temperatures are good for humans.
We are a tropical species, without mastering fire we would never have ventured outside the tropics.

Temperatures were much higher than now during the Minoan and Roman civilizations and humanity thrived.

Warmer temperatures would mean less need for energy and fewer people freezing to death, far more people die from cold than from heat.
More of the earth would be available for cultivation for more food.

amazing that the temperatures always seem warmer when an environmental wacko is reporting them.

You see that is precisely the problem - more people, more stuff, more food, not less as the socialist would have it. Socialists love scarcity as that gives them ways to create schisms, divisions, and other power grabbing opportunities.

Plenitude is anathema to a socialist like having a different opinion about one of their ‘religious’ beliefs.

...scientists reported on Wednesday that the Earth reached its highest temperature on record in 2016...

Is that before or after they "adjusted" the data?

First time in the modern era annual average temperature extremes were set three years in a row ? A normal person would hear that and assume something is wrong with the record keeping.

We do not have accurate global temperature records prior to the United States’ nuclear navy. Nobody cared what happened on 70% of the Earth’s surface. They traveled in shipping lanes and their interest in temperature focused on the day to day change, not the absolute value.

We also didn’t have solid records of unexplored or rarely explored areas on land. Where there were people on land who might measure the temperature, no one can answer how carefully the thermometers were calibrated. No one can answer for the diligence of the person who recorded the temperature. Did he actually go read the thing at precisely 11:00 AM every day, or did he decide that it felt the same as yesterday, so it must have been seventy degrees again?

Poor data collection and erroneous recording remain flaws in modern experiments. This is at a time when researchers absolutely know that it can destroy the conclusions, yet they still do it and they still get caught. Global warming neonazis insist that if we go back a few decades into a time when the people who recorded the temperatures may not have been scientists or anyone who actually cared what happened, we will nevertheless obtain factual results.

Combined with Micheal Mann’s dishonest mix of tree ring data and recorded temperature data to produce the infamous watermelon flavored hockey stick graph, and it’s insulting to me that any of this nonsense was given a second hearing. The academics of the current United States and Europe remind me of Trofim Lysenko more than Isaac Newton.

On a clear winter night, the heat of the earth radiates off into outer space. That is why so many clear winter nights are so murderously cold.

We’ve known this for over seventy years.

Trump agrees man-made climate change is real and so does his Secretary of State, recently CEO of EXXON.

Why are you attacking the positions of Donald Trump. You are nothing but a troll for attacking Trump!

Ex-squeeze me? They are NOT hard over warmunists and will consider more than the “settled science”. Or, did you forget the “/s” at the end of your post. I may be reveling in crumdgeon-ness but dang.

Before answering, check the blogs on how the gubmit ALTERED existing temperature records (for very non defendable reasons to we true science types) so as to actually RAISE the temp trend for the past few decades.

Given the documented alterations of the data, we can now answer some questions presented in a previous reply.

Hotter than 1933? 1998? No.

Have they further lowered historical temperatures to make it appear warmer? Yes

Or is this more of the so-called climate change hoax? Hell yes.

D1 wonders...

If the earth is hotter every year, how can there be so many snowflakes?
