The finals days of any president's administration are always bittersweet and heavy on nostalgia, as officials face the transition back to being "civilians" who will no longer have their hands on the nation's levers of power.

This is how liberals view "public service", I.e., having their "hands on the levers of power."

There's never any consideration to actual service, just power. None of them sacrificed anything to serve others. They assumed power to advance their own ends, whether that was notoriety, control of others, pride, or worst, financial incentives.

For some who joined Obama's team right out of college, it's the end of the only professional experience they've ever known.

This sentence is a perfect example. How does someone, right out of college, with no life experience or previous employment sacrifice anything to be of "service" in GOVERNMENT?

Sure, service in poverty to others, hands on experience with the destitute, this I get. But service to others by having their "hands on the levers of power?" I can't wait until these assholes are gone.

It has a history going right back to FDR. Notice who's driving, and who's in the front of the wagon — also, notice what they're drinking:
