Wish we had the resources to revive the “I’m only a bill on Capitol Hill” campaign and expand it to cover our Judeo-Christian founding and history.
Ah, I could philosophize for pages and pages on that, if allowed to (actually we can, on our Freep pages, though it is a bit inconvenient to edit).
I believe that America is in some sense the gospel equivalent of what Israel is to Judaism, though the gospel being portable and the Jews being promised a land, the history doesn’t look exactly the same, only similar with some parallels. We don’t even SEE an America in the book of Revelation. Perhaps if a rapture has rendered the world bereft of Christians, it will be regarded as that horrible, gauche, bourgeois Christian place by the unbelievers that are left, and it will be abandoned, and therefore moot in the rest of the story. Just a surmise here.
Really explaining America needs good theology. America wouldn’t make any sense any other way.
