Yep! That has been absurd since forever...Think it is done to trigger some kind of emotion in the viewing audience...
It’s done because the director thinks it should be there. The director thinks it should be there because it’s in all the other movies.
Hollywood would be much better if it got rid of 90% of the sound effects crews. The ones who use the crackling paper sound effects every time someone turns a page or picks up a bag make me want to throw things.
