A common problem throughout the media these days. I have to read and re-read stories, wondering how they ever got past a copy editor. I suspect such trivial things as proper grammar and coherent sentence structure are electives in today’s journalism schools!
News used to be a recitation of facts - who, what, when, where, how. The reader was assumed to have the education level and the necessary logic to make their own decision about the story. Oh, how times have changed! Now, we are lucky to get half the facts, poorly presented, with an editorial bias inherent in even the simplest of pieces

Not making excuses, but that is the pragmatic practical extent of it.
