As bad as the VA situation was before he was placed, would it not make sense that Obama would have wanted to get a name in there, whether he would have any tangible effect at all, that would have given the illusion he picked somebody with credibility. It is just he was most likely given a mushroom (kept in the dark and constantly fed BS) office as a placeholder and a name to try and deflect the mountain of horrible PR.

I like the way you think. Sounds like a very likely scenario! And didn’t Trump say he interviewed like 100 people for that job before choosing him? If so, the guy must have quite a resume & is quite an impressive guy. And rest assured, Trump will be holding all his appointees responsible & on a short leash. Trump means business! (Hey, they might have been a great campaign slogan! ;)
