Any "wall" will be a mix of technologies (correctly so). There are places where a physical wall is best, and places where a virtual wall is preferred. Physical walls in urban and suburban areas abutting the border, and virtual walls in remote areas, in which a physical wall will impede (for instance) animal migrations.
The key need is to get ICES and Border Patrol back to their designated tasks, and not doing "Muslim Outreach" (or whatever other ridiculous things that the outgoing administration imposed on them.

There needs to be a wall on every inch of the border otherwise it will take political will to enforce the border. Need to take politics out of it.

Or, cattle getting to the river. The gov’t is already in the process of taking private land for a “wall”. And even though a wall isn’t built yet, the ranchers aren’t able to get their cows to the water. Turns hundreds/thousands of acres of grazing land worthless if the cows can’t drink.
