We have it from the Lord himself that heaven rejoices when a sinner is converted.

We also have it from the Lord Himself that one who has committed blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is without redemption. I have never seen anything in the life of Charles Manson that indicates the Holy Spirit has continued to call upon Charles Manson. Do I know what Manson goes through in the hours of his life when he is alone? The answer is obvious. Of course I don't.

But we do know that Manson is a false prophet. His followers have said that he used to spend hours on end speaking his own horrid and evil vision of what good and bad is, and how that connects, in his version, to the end times.

This is what Jesus said of false prophets: “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17 So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will know them by their fruits.

I don't think that we have any reason to believe, based on the fruits of Charles Manson's life, that he can or will be welcomed in heaven, or that the angels have rejoiced because of Manson's conversion.

Of course not. But neither are we required to believe it's too late for him to repent. I wouldn't bet on it -- but this isn't a betting matter.

Almost certainly not yet. But do not imagine that the Enemy is relaxing either. The struggle's not over till life is over.
