You need to get out of the south and leave us “riff-raf” to oursleves...
I used the phrase “riff-raf” as a sort of joke. Fact is, when it comes to employers, these people are simply bad news. Riff-raf is, literally, a compliment, within the context.
We welcome them to our church and do all we can to help them, but people gonna do what people gonna do. When I lived in Seattle, our church started a “feed the local poor” program. We spent a lot of time on logistics, etc. to get it all going. Then we had our first friday and helped a fair amount of people. Then we showed up on Sunday and all of our musical equipment was stolen. The program was ended immediately.
There are dogs and there are coyotes. You don’t want to get them mixed up, though you can show Christian love until you learn which you are dealing with. I believe the bible calls them “sheep and goats”.
