A GUNMAN who shot dead five people and injured eight others at a Florida airport had walked into an FBI office claiming he was being forced to fight for ISIS.
Esteban Santiago, the prime suspect in the mass shooting at Fort Lauderdale airports baggage reclaim, spoke to authorities about the terror group in November.
He told officials he was hearing voices in his head, some of which were telling him to join ISIS and watch their videos, and was taken to hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Santiago, who also told the FBI the government controlled his mind, gunned down 13 people at Fort Lauderdale airport today, killing five and injuring eight.
The suspect's aunt Maria Ruiz Rivera claimed the alleged shooter "lost his mind" while fighting in Iraq.

That’s a good point. I have wondered if they take troubled people and turn them into assassians. Wouldn’t be surprised at all.
Paranoia is one characteristic of schizophrenia, which primarily (though not exclusively) hits young males between their mid-teens and mid-twenties. Although most schizophrenics are not necessarily violent, it would not be difficult to exacerbate the paranoia of a schizophrenic and encourage them to do heinous acts.
Another democrat or democrat sponsored muslim the FBI did not touch because of PC
Or ‘work place violence.’
I don’t know that he did....he claims the CIA was controlling his mind
>>I dont know that he did....he claims the CIA was controlling his mind
Yeah, but he says that the CIA was controlling his mind to fight for ISIS, not to become a muslim. Interesting choice of words and when you combine that with his little Jihadi Starter Beard and the photo (cropped by the media) that shows his hand in the “one god” sign, I think that some connections to islam will be found and then it just becomes another case of SJS (the “lone wolf”, no organizational ties, even though he flew all the way across a continent to go on a 45 second shooting rampage).
If he doesn't survive long enough to testify, you'll have your answer.
We are in a spiritual war with all the dark spirits of hell, which is why our world seems so dismal. When our leaders are into the overthrow of Christian beliefs, they are chasing the darkness. We need to turn this nation toward the light again; toward the Christian nation it once was.
Jesus said, “I am the Light of the World”. He told us to not hide our light under a basket, but shine it upon the mountains. It may be difficult but if we stay strong and together, we can do it.
What happened to the Ruiz part of his name?
I CCW and won’t fly for that reason. But I also know that there is a process, but you have to be going into a state that not only allows you to CCW, but has reciprocal laws with your state. And you can’t Carry out of country.
Seems the weakness in in baggage claim area. Why were just any one allowed in that area with out going through TSA checks? Even my husband’s metal knee and shoulder will set that sucker off.
From my view this particular airport was selected so as to maximize the impact on the public and tourist.
FLL is only 2 miles from the busiest cruise port almost anywhere. 45,000 people get off and on those ships on the busiest days. So add that to the airport passenger numbers and you got an ISIS selected and directed target.
My take.

Do you have any links to verify Santiago is in local pd custody? I ask because a Canadian source suggests otherwise....
"Santiago, who is in federal custody, will face federal charges and is expected to appear in court Monday, Piro said." (TorontoStar: Detained Florida airport gunman, an Army vet, to appear in court Monday)

The reason I ask is because chaos reigned for well over an hour during the shooting at FLL with multiple early media reports suggesting additional gunman on the loose in additional terminals as well as the parking facility. Yet, again, initial reports of multiple shooters is dismissed to lone gunman.

Keep in mind a couple of tangential items of potential interest which prompt my question of who has taken custody of Santiago....

Black muslima mayor, Barbara Muhammad Sharief (elected second time in November 2016
She was Browards first black female mayor, and its first Muslim mayor. Barbara Muhammad Sharief broke those barriers three years ago.
The Muslim religion is one of the most peaceful religions out there. Violence is against everything thats written in the Quran.

"Confusion continued long after the gunman was captured. At one point, travelers began running at another terminal, although officials said there wasn't a second shooter. In addition to the eight people wounded by gunfire, 37 were injured after the shooting rampage, the sheriff's office said."Someone that was leaving the airport in the parking garage thought they heard something that sounded like gunshots," said Mayor of Broward County Barbara Sharief. "Out of an abundance of caution, they thought we should evacuate the area give it a sweep and make sure nothing else is going on." (Via NBCNews)
Unless the CIA actually was forcing him to watch ISIS indoctrination tapes in preparation for something else (which he would not have been allowed to survive). In that scenario he’s a bomb that went off earlier than planned at the wrong target. Gee, who’s recently been reported spending the holidays in Florida?
Was ... as in Alaska.
I am aware of that, but this guy was saying that the government was programming him. May be he has mental problems, but....that makes him the kind of person who can be easily manipulated in various ways.
None of us know this for a fact, but we have heard of mind control and it would be naive to think governments do not engage in it, or experiment with it.
I think that is correct, especially some very young from families with a trauma history passed on to other generations via new acts of trauma. I think we are on the fourth generation of trauma based control victims/participants with some as young as 8 years old reported as having multiple personalities. The first generation are in their 60s, 70s or older now if alive.
Also, I think some part of intelligence agencies make some folks “troubled people” using the trauma technique.
If you want to see a strange connection, research how LSD came on to the streets in the 1960s and some of the other experiments dark agencies put on unsuspecting US citizens. I think it mainly took place in California (at first) and it goes way beyond the medical experiments of injecting syphilis into unsuspecting Tuskegee US citizens and people in Guatemala.
I’m all for American’s 2nd amendment rights, but why was this guy allowed to continue to bear arms after the statements he made. Someone should have had the authority to take away his arms once he started claiming ISIS was trying to control him. Insanity is a good reason to disarm anyone before something like this happens.
“Wow, the guy walks in the door to the FBI with all this ISIS baggage and they just let him walk back out the door after a mental health screening.”
I believe they had the cops take him to a mental hospital where he spent two weeks. Not long enough, obviously.
I lived up there for 20 years, and about half of the people need mental care by the time January rolls around with the cold and extreme darkness. I hope they didn’t figure him to be this type of “ordinary” and write him off as a simple kook.
McVeigh claimed they put a chip into his head.
