Excellent ! I’ve never understood why new laws were needed when there are already good ones on the books, like for illegal immigration. I suspect it’s just to make the lawmakers seem busy.
Why has the border been unsecured for 15 years post 9/11 despite great efforts by Rep King (NY) & Rep Hunter (CA) to legislate for the wall?
1. Americans realized how vulnerable we were post 9/11 and demanded increased border security, especially the US/Mex border.
2. Congress took five long years to pass legislation. However, many of the YEAs & GWB never had any intention of seeing our US/Mex border secured.
3. Congress funded the border meagerly, construction began, it was at least $5 billion dollars short.
4. The two top border traitors from Texas (Sen. Kay B-H) & (GWB) killed the funding, one year later, minutes after Christmas.
Hutchison inserted an amendment into a $555 billion spending bill that President Bush signed into law the day after Christmas 2007.
