Sounds like nothing is changing as far as deficit spending is concerned.
We’ll see...I would think that Mr. Trump would want a balanced (or positive to pay down some debt) budget by his 2nd year in office.
Why does the resolution assume 9 trillion additional debt? According to the article, Cruz, Lee and Rubio support the resolution, just not the spending outlays....huh?
Sounds like we need more info on this resolution before throwing Rand under the bus.
I’m pretty sure Rubio is not that worried about high spending.
That is how to lose.
Rand Paul needs to get his head out of his rectum, IMO.
Repeal and replace Rand Paul...please!
YESSSSS. This is a truly great AMERICAN. SHUT THIS GOVERNMENT DOWN HARD!!No more free stuff. I don’t want my money going to free stuff for communists!! GO RAND!! Stand With RAND
It’s good that it passed. Rand Paul needs to get his priorities straight.
So the Compost is now a believable source of news?
Since when?
If the Compost came out and told us that tomorrow will be the 5th of January, 2017.
I would have to check my paper and digital calendars to make sure.
“Go Rand Paul”
Was there ever a large omnibus law passed by Congress that originated our pre-Obamacare health care? Did it not just develop under the constraints of AMA type licensing to ensure quality and competence?
Laws were passed for Medicare and Medicaid to operate in the established medical system.
I always thought of him as the Republican version of Weird Al Yankovic or Yahoo Serious
“He voted against due to the 9 trillion addition to the national debt over the next 10 years. He favors repeal of Obamacare but wants simultaneous replacement.”
He’s right.
Good post.
And opposing any more debt is reasonable.
Time to primary him.
No more national debt should be priority one because its becoming obvious that our nation and its leaders need financial support from other parts of the world that have money because of the debt.
The love of war in Syria expressed by Uniparty leaders from McCain to Kerry is backed by the financial power of Saudi Arabia and Gulf Arabs stands out like a sore thumb.
Why does “replace” even have to be part of this?
The free market is waiting to be unchained.
There are other provisions of Obamacare that operate to reduce the federal deficit (such as cost containment provisions to help keep Medicare solvent). A repeal, without replace, would increase the deficit by about $350 billion (total) over ten years. Link: http://www.cnbc.com/2017/01/04/heres-how-gop-repeal-of-obamacare-would-swell-the-federal-deficit.html
The effect of the “replace” part would of course depend on what the replacement was. They could keep some of the deficit-reducers to make repeal revenue-neutral. Alternatively, if they repeal everything else but keep the Medicaid expansion, then the deficit would increase by MORE than $350 billion.
The $9 trillion isn’t solely the effect of repealing Obamacare. It’s the total additional deficit that Republicans in Congress expect to run over the next ten years.
Not buying the CNBC explanation...”cost containment provisions” (usually reduced payments to doctors/hospitals) can be enacted separately after repealing every word of Obamacare.
The GOPe will probably end doing this: https://www.conservativereview.com/commentary/2017/01/the-republican-plans-to-embrace-obamacare-2-0
EXACTLY !
Hey free market, GO FOR IT !!
NO State lines, no limitations.
Sit back and watch a miracle happen.
