With all that Congress has to work on, do they really have to make the weakening of the Independent Ethics Watchdog, as unfair as it may be, their number one act and priority. Focus on tax reform, healthcare and so many other things of far greater importance! #DTS
He is holding his own party accountable. This will be parlayed to give him the moral high ground and let him pound Republicans in Congress for his other plans.

Maybe it's like the GEICO commercial and the Independent Ethics Watchdog is just that - a watchdog that just watches but doesn't actually do anything else.
The Independent Ethics Watchdog must not have any power because seeing the words 'congress' and 'ethics' in the same sentence is startling if not laughable.
Congress and the senate are not widely respected for their ethics - or perhaps we should say their lack of ethics.
The #DTS in the end was a nice touch.
