Yes, I read that thanks. Coats is quite tough in the mouth on Russia. While putting laundry in the washer I got to thinking about the appointment. Perhaps Donald thinks Mike can keep Dan in line and since they have a good friendly relationship Mike can direct Dan to work and not slack on the job.

Just perhaps there's a need for the Vice and the man directing intel that pertains to Russia needs to be a very open fluid line of communication as Dan and Mike will most certainly have. I'm honestly trying to find a positive reson for this appointment. Gosh, I hope it's not a mistake and Dan turns coat as we know him to do.

It gives a message to the “Intelligence” community that DT is not soft on Russia. I imagine there are many in DC in that area who have worked with Coates in the past. He will know where the bodies are buried and where the dead wood in the dept is hidden.
