Last week, administrators at the University of Oregon made it clear to professors that they would be disciplined if they offended students on the subjects of race, gender, sexuality, or religion.
This is a concerning new development considering that this new warning from administrators suggests that professors can be disciplined based upon what students subjectively choose to find offensive. Discipline for remarks made by professors is not limited to bigoted remarks or deliberate racism, but rather any incident that a student may find offensive.

Isn’t this exactly what tenure is supposed to protect against? Professors being able to say what they want without fear of being fired? For years, Liberal professors have made the most outrageous statements and were protected from being fired by tenure. But I guess, like everything else the Left does, that was a one way street.

This is where the victimhood hierarchy comes in. If the group is officially oppressed, then their offenses against whites, men, heterosexuals are irrelevant because those groups are defined by the bullies as “privileged”, thus fit to denigrate or outright assault.

Many schools don’t enforce teacher tenure. Union reps can get six figures for doing nothing but protect administrators. All about beaurocrats.

“Colleges” and “universities” have become ZERO TOLERANCE ZONES. It’s time to starting shutting down those sewers of indoctrination and programming.

Gee, it sounds exactly like what teachers in the NYC Bored of Ed have been subjected to for several years now. Students will say to teachers (when asked to please put away a cell phone, be quiet, take their seat, etc.), “F___ you! I gonna get you fired, b____!” And the outrageous thing is, yes, they can. They have been meticulously coached by admin on what to say and what buzz words to be sure and include. So they craft these “statements” about stuff the teacher never even said or did. The “investigators”, who have already been told the results that the principal wants, never pick up on the fact that these statements, written in good English, are being submitted by students at reading levels 1 and 2 out of 4—students who can barely read. But they’ll take it and run with it, if it “supports” the results that they want. Another conscientious teacher out, in with a cheap untenured newbie. No wonder teacher shortages are rampant in certain areas now (like the Bronx), and it’s getting worse.
It would be interesting to see what would happen if Trump were to start pulling the accreditations of universities with Orwellian speech codes. Start with the worst offenders.
I saw this coming. I could have taught 3-4 more years, made lots of money, but this was already on the horizon, so I left.

Claims that homosexuality is immoral.
Claims that there are biological differences in aptitude and temperament, on average, between men and women.
Rejection of the view that gender identity can be defined by self-perception, as opposed to biology.
...
Most teachers have no reason to be covering those subjects anyway.
Phil Knight High is number one on the defunding list as is most of Oregon, gonna be lots of wailing & knashing of teeth in the Valley come January...Really gonna suck to be Kate Brown & Ron Ayden the next 2 years
