Our future leaders are unlikely to come from the Senate anyway. Future leaders are more likely to be drawn from among the 1,000 plus office holders (many younger) most of whom are in the fly-over country.
We do absolutely need Congressional term limits. No more half-cenutry politicians.
“Our future leaders are unlikely to come from the Senate anyway.”
Hopefully NONE of them will ever become leaders. My point is that as an institution, The Senate is a disgraceful place for worthless men and women to join and stay for the entirety of their adult lives while doing absolutely nothing to improve our country. The Senate has devolved into a little group of 100 people who act like the “fat freddies” that run Saudi Arabia. Perhaps if we went back to the founders vision of the Senate being a body filled by the state legislatures, it might possibly get better, but as it stands, it’s merely a roadblock to successful governance.
