I think another theft factor is the preponderance of souped-up “rice” cars. There are quite a few nice imports in California that are desired by thieves, a lot of them with luxury features installed by well-to-do folks. I don’t think they’re stealing old Plymouths or grandma cars.
“I dont think theyre stealing old Plymouths or grandma cars.”
There is no such thing as an old car here. I was driving through Salinas one Saturday morning this last Fall on my way to Laguna Seca Raceway and got into “the morning rush to the fields” by the local farm workers. No old cars with those people either. And when I drive down town in the small East Bay community where I live, I usually see at least a half-dozen Teslas. I am beginning to think most of Tesla’s production stays very close to their plant in Fremont.
You are correct. Last report I read of most stolen cars were mostly Honda economy car crap. The Rice Boyz need parts for their ridiculous buzz bombs.
I’ve thought for some time that sports stadiums were lightning rods for car thieves/vandalizers...the owner will be gone for 3 hours...
