The purpose of the bill, as far as I can tell, is to prevent children who are being coerced into prostitution from being charged with crimes. The bill allows the children to be taken into custody by the courts to prevent their further abuse. The adult perverts who seek to have sex with children will of course continue to be prosecuted.
These kids are victims, not criminals - they need to be rescued, not thrown in jail. That was the point of the bill.

Anyone would understand and forgive trafficking but this excuses ALL minors. Teens pimp themselves out all the time.

Sorry I just don’t buy that line. Sounds fishy to me. I would insist that they are arrested, doesn’t mean they will be found guilty right? At the very least it gets them into the system instead of ignored. Don’t BUY it for a second. Call me conspiracy or whatever it sends a bad message.
