I have been stuck on island twice during the dear reader’s vacations. What’s not said is how much the disruption has cost the citizens of Hawaii.
When Obama goes out for his shave ice nearly the entire windward side of the island shuts down. When he goes to Honolulu nearly the entire southern half of the island grinds to a halt. It took 3 hours to get across the Pali when he was there a few years back. When he crosses the mountains the Like Like, Pali, and H3 are ALL shut down for him.
I despise this man and his wife. Only 12 million a year for their vacations?

Why would they shut them all down? What possible sense does that make? For those who don't know, the Like Like, Pali, and H-3 are parallel highways under the Ko'olau Mountain Range between the windward side (Kaneohe and Kailua) to Honolulu. One can only be on one of those roads at a time, and there would be no reason to switch from one to another midstream. So I don't get why they'd shut them all down.
