His reference to the “Nakba” was disingenuous. The “catastrophe” was a result of the Arab world rejecting the Partition Plan and warring against the fledgling Jewish state. If the Arabs had accepted partition, there would not have been a war and a refugee problem in the first place. So the creation of the State of Israel didn’t create this problem; the rejection by the Arabs of the creation of the State of Israel did. Kerry was trying to give this a “balance” that it doesn’t deserve.
