The rabbi in charge of the National Hanukkah Menorah lighting used the ceremony, held Sunday just steps from the White House, to criticize the Obama administration's decision to allow the United Nations to pass a resolution condemning Israeli settlements in the West Bank and portions of Jerusalem as illegal.
Rabbi Levi Shemtov, executive vice president of American Friends of Lubavitch, turned an Obama administration official's speech about "fighting darkness with light" on its head, evoking Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — who has had an antagonistic relationship with President Obama — and urging Jews not to despair about the "darkness" cast by the United Nations vote.
Shemtov spoke after remarks by Adam Szubin, acting treasury undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, and the Obama administration's representative Sunday at the event.
Szubin delivered a short speech focusing mainly on the significance and symbology of candles and light as they pertain to Hanukkah and later helped to light a 30-foot menorah. "Secretary Szubin spoke before of fighting darkness with light," Shemtov said. "I remember those words being spoken to a particular man by the Rebbe [Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson] many many years ago on Simchat Torah," an annual Jewish holiday which marks the conclusion of one reading of the Torah and beginning of another.

Not sure the headline fits the article. The Rabbi’s statements were pretty gentle - he expressly disclaimed harsh rhetoric. Pretty restrained, I would say.

It is also not an insignificant resolution. Obama and his evil cabal waited for years to spring this trap upon Israel. Obama and Samantha Power (and others) crafted the verbiage with the assistance of the Muslim Brotherhood and groups like Hamas (as well as the "Palestinian Authority").
This resolution will allow international courts and institutions to punish and attack Israel at every venue. It outlaws Jews from exercising their rights in Jerusalem itself, including their holy Wailing Wall!
And I feel Barry Hussein is not done yet.
War may be coming. We should prepare ourselves for that possibility.

The UN is not as powerful as we think. While Mr. Trump will have a hard time fighting this, the UN is exposing itself as a less than powerful organization.

Hey, the Jews mostly voted for Obama...they own the outcome. Same for the blacks, their neglect is their problem. Elections have consequences...as we are about to witness shortly.

Mostly the JINOS did. Most liberal Jews are non-religious or only moderately religious (kinda like liberals of other faiths - even Hillary claims to be a Christian, lol!). I blame it partly on the fact that so many Jews settled in NY when they immigrated. NY is a breeding ground for liberal thought.
