There is no way male homosexuals could do what they do to each other without some significant degree of disgust and self-loathing, thus the frequently drunken, drugged-up, and anonymous nature of their assignations. What I meant by that phrase was "I have not seen any statistics to suggest that drug abuse and other reckless behaviors have decreased in homosexuals. In fact the stats still suggest that the rates are ridiculously high." Meanwhile, your "evidence" is "I know people, and they're happier!"

I am going to tell you right now that many miserable people swear they are happy. An alcoholic will tell you that he's the happiest when he has a full bottle in front of him. Is that really "happy"?
