full title....................Participation is voluntary and there's a waitlist: Rockettes hit back at dancer who says she will perform at Trump's inauguration with tears in her eyes....................The famed Radio City Hall Rockettes will not be forced to participate in the group's planned performance next month in Washington DC for Donald Trump's election.
The American Guild of Variety Artists, the union which is meant to protect the girls, said that any plans for the women to refuse to perform at the show are invalid.
'Everyone is entitled to her own political beliefs, but there is no room for this in the workplace,' said the union in a letter obtained by Broadway World.
It closed out by saying: 'If you are not full time, you do not have to sign up to do this work. If you are full time, you are obligated.
'Doing the best performance to reflect an American Institution which has been here for over 90 years is your job. I hope this pulls into focus the bottom line on this work.'
Soon after this however Madison Square Garden Company said in a statement that all Rockettes need to sign up in order to be considered for an event and that there was already a wait list due to the number of women interested,m so no one would be performing against their will.

Did I read this wrong? I read this a AGVA protecting the profession. With a warning if you cannot be professional you will be replaced.

It's one thing to have a Hollywood actor diss Trump because who really cares.
The Rocketts are an organization that has become an American institution with huge goodwill from the American people.
This woman's unprofessional behavior has damaged the Rocketts and she should be dismissed.
There are only about 10,000 equally talented and attractive aspiring dancers currently waiting on tables in NYC who would love to do the job this malcontent disdains so much.
Besides, her tweet is probably reflective of more serious Diva type attitude problems she has that have a negative impact on the Rocketts organization so they probably will be happy to see her go.
Since Trump was elected along patriotic lines why not have a patriotic themed inaugural. Military bands, orchestras etc... who needs those who denigrate the country and the constitutional republic? They are not welcome if they chose to openly oppose the administration.

Trump is the master of entertainment. If he wanted the Beatles to show up, he’d find a way to get John Lennon there. This media storm about inauguration is a joke.
