Prince Charles’s grandfather, King George VI, did not speak German. Indeed, his wife, Queen Elizabeth (later the Queen Mother) was notoriously anti-German. Charles’s father Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, however, does speak German.
I have seen Germany mentioned a lot in both of the Prince Charles threads today but I am not sure what its significance is supposed to be in this case.
