Walmart pulled a Black Lives Matter shirt and hoodie from its online store Wednesday after police accused the retailer of helping third-party sellers profit "from racial division."

The hoodie and shirt that were pulled featured the slogan, "Bulletproof: Black Lives Matter," and were being sold through Walmart Marketplace, the retailer's website that features millions of items from third-party sellers.

On Tuesday, Chuck Canterbury, the national president of the Fraternal Order of Police, wrote a public letter to Walmart calling out its Marketplace site for selling merchandise that promotes the Black Lives Matter movement, which organizes protests across the US to draw attention to racism and police brutality.

"Commercializing our differences will not help our local police and communities to built greater trust and respect for one another," Canterbury wrote in the letter.

In response, Walmart said in a statement that it would remove apparel that said, "Bulletproof: Black Lives Matter," from its online store.

"Like other online retailers, we have a marketplace with millions of items offered by third parties that includes Blue Lives Matter, Black Lives Matter and All Lives Matter merchandise," Walmart said in a statement. "After hearing concerns from customers, we are removing the specific item with the 'bulletproof' reference."

Shirts and hoodies with this "Bulletproof" design have been removed from Walmart's online store.

Police Accuse Retailer Of ‘Profiting From Racial Division’

I have a problem with that statement. What law, specifically, are they violating?

It’s good that they responded, but a shame that WalMart needed to be told in the first place.

Indicates irresponsible and/or immature management.

Have they also pulled the “Blue Lives Matter” shirts?

What now? Not long ago, people wearing a certain brand of sneakers got killed, and their sneakers stolen. :-/

The “KKK” and “Black Lives Matter” are both hate groups.

Neither group should be selling shirts in Walmart. But if they do, fine - we’ll just stop shopping there.

Not violating any law.

But still wrong to make money by stirring up hate and promoting BLM domestic terrorists.

I didn’t read where the polie organization accused them of violating any law, they just expressed their opinion and evidently Wal-Mart decided to pull the merchandise in response. Anyone can object to anything, but usually it doesn’t do much good.

Do you think the white klan would be able to sell similar items? BLM is a terrorist group responsible for assassinating a dozen LEOs. The black klan organizations just don’t call themselves klans.

>>I thought Walmart was Republican!

Not for many years.

Hillary Clinton was on the BoD.

I will never get why Walmart does things like this. They sell clothing like this even though it is an insult to 90% of their customers. The Left, who would buy it, openly mocks and ridicules Walmart customers as a bunch of fat, ignorant rednecks.

“What law, specifically, are they violating?”

None - Jesse Jackson has been doing this for years.

But the police groups can apply public relations pressure, legal or not.

Bulletproof?

I’d like to think Travon would disagree.
