I think the only time they haven’t gone to HI and returned together was the year she stayed in HI to celebrate her 50th birthday with FRIENDS? He returned to DC from HI one year because of the whatever budget crisis that no one knew about all year; it caught them by surprise - ahem - and then flew back to HI after he worked his magic.
