I suspect that both major parties are going to be much more selective about choosing electors in 2020.
Too many flaky electors this year.
A few California electors MUST be itching to strike a blow for Bernie. I don’t know this, I just feel it.

This is stupid. With the era of “Me” now upon us this doesn’t bode well for 4 years from now. You will have a lot of people building new youtube channels off of how they will vote as electors. Very shortsighted to encourage this

With only a few exceptions, there are no electors for the candidate who lost in a given state. Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, West Virginia and every other state won by Trump only have Republican electors for Trump. The same is true for states won by Hillary Clinton.
The only states that are exceptions are Maine and Nebraska, which split their electoral votes. Trump won Nebraska, but two Nebraska electoral votes go to the winner of the popular vote. Hillary Clinton won Maine. One of Hillary’s Maine electors went faithless and voted for Bernie Sanders. The single Trump elector in Maine (out of four) voted as pledged for Trump. Maine determines electoral votes by winners of congressional districts. Nebraska hasn’t reported yet that I’m aware.
I agree. Only extreme circumstances (and we have yet to see them) should preclude an elector from voting as their states decided.

The only people encouraging this were the democrats themselves. Hopefully more Hillary electors will flip to Bernie.

In a fair DNC race, Bernie would have won.

This is how it’s been this entire election cycle... everything and anything the left says is going to happen on the right ends up happening to them.

This is funny yet quite serious especially if it were a very close election. So now the bribing, threatening and harassment of 538 people will potentially decide an election in the future?
When you look at this in retrospect, it would have been easier for Bernie to be the nominee, have Hillary as it VP choice, win the election then hand the reins to Hillary once engulfed in a major scandal prior to January 20.
Seems the rats took the long way around and ran into a brick wall.
